How to please all party guests

(NC)—A common party planning challenge is anticipating how to please all of your guests. A typical get-together has a mix of men, women and children, and the key to ensuring everyone has a great time is to have activities and foods that appeal to all.

“While it's important for guests to mix and mingle, you do need to have distinct food and entertainment options available to each group,” says Francine Socket of Francine Socket & Associates Event Architects. “I suggest setting up three different areas within your space, each catering to different tastes.”

• A lounge area with TV for the diehard sports fans so they can watch their favourite game.

• An area in the kitchen where guests can chat and enjoy the ambience.

• A separate area for kids and teens so they can interact and play games.

“To make party planning a little easier on the host, I love the idea of using one food to tie each group together in theme. Salsa is the perfect example,” adds Socket. “It can be served on nachos or in a simple appetizer and can be made into a melon salsa and paired with a complimentary beverage.”

Served as a dip, condiment or ingredient, Tostitos Salsa has a brand new recipe that is its best tasting ever and is still zero trans fat - an ideal food for any party.

Savoury Veggie Nachos

1 onion, finely chopped
1 can beans, drained and rinsed
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 jar Tostitos salsa (New Recipe)
1 bag Tostitos tortilla chips

Place Tostitos tortilla chips in heat-safe dish. Top with all ingredients. Heat until cheese is melted.

Mozzarella Boulettes

2 lbs lean ground beef
1 pkg mozzarella cheese, cubed
1 cup of Tostitos salsa (New Recipe)
1 bag Tostitos Scoops tortilla chips

Form small beef boulettes (round balls) with cheese cube in the centre. Bake in 450 degree oven for 10-15 minutes until cooked thoroughly. Place boulettes in scoops and top with salsa.

Cold Melon Salsa

1/2 honeydew melon
1 cantaloupe
1/3 Jalapeño
1/4 cup cilantro
2 tbsp lime juice
1 jar Tostitos salsa (New Recipe)
1 bag Tostitos tortilla chips

Finely chop all fresh ingredients. In large serving bowl, mix salsa, lime juice and chopped ingredients. Drain and refrigerate before serving.
